Philip Schoenfeld, MD, MSEd, MSc (Epi), is Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan and Director of the GI Epidemiology Training Program. He is an authority on colon cancer screening and quality indicators for colonoscopy. He has co-authored the American College of Gastroenterology 2008 Colon Cancer Screening Guidelines, co-authored the updated ASGE/ACG guideline on Quality Indicators in Colonoscopy, and served on the GI Steering Committee of the National Quality Forum.

His research, which is supported by multiple NIH and VA grants, focuses on optimizing adenoma detection rates during screening colonoscopy, maximizing bowel preparation efficacy, implementing programs to improve adherence to CRC guidelines for timing of repeat colonoscopy, and re-assessing appropriate timing of screening colonoscopy for individuals with a family history of CRC. He has published more than 100 original research articles, reviews, and book chapters about colon cancer screening, outcomes research and evidence-based medicine, and his original research studies have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, British Medical Journal, Gut, and the American Journal of Gastroenterology.

Nayantara Coelho-Prabhu, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She has been a member of the ASGE Quality Assurance in Endoscopy Committee since 2011. Her interests include development of quality indicators in endoscopy, and inflammatory bowel disease.
